The latest casino in Las Vegas to enter the poker room phenomenon is the Tropicana. They are currently spreading $1-$3, $2-$6, and No Limit Texas Hold’Em, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. daily. The room offers six poker tables located near the escalator to MGM walkway across from the Harbor Bar. Each wall displays historic Las Vegas photos, as well as a 42-inch plasma television with continuous sports feed.
You’ll also find several good meal deals and specials at the Trop, including a Steak & Crab legs dinner served in the Calypsos 24 hour coffee shop nightly from 5:00 p.m. to midnight for $18.95. You can save an additional $4 off the price by picking up a coupon sheet with a free pull on the promotional slot machine located outside the front entrance, or try asking for the coupons at the Winner’s Club booth. If you play the free pull machine and get lucky, you can also win additional free merchandise, meals, show tickets, cash or even a car. At the very minimum, everyone gets the set of good coupons and a free souvenir deck of cards.
Swim-up blackjack, a Tropicana summer favorite, also opens for the season on May 27, just in time for the Memorial Day weekend. The aquatic card game is located in the indoor section of the main pool. The area includes two separate blackjack tables that can accommodate up to seven players each. Players can dive in to this card game from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. daily. Bets from $5-$25 a hand are accepted. For the convenience of the game players, towels are on-hand to keep the players’ hands and chips dry. While trying your luck at the popular card game, guests can enjoy exotic beverages from the Tropics Bar, just a splash away from the blackjack tables.
