The Wyndham Nassau Resort & Crystal Palace Casino is the first casino in The Bahamas to announce the introduction of daily live poker play. Baha Mar Development Corp, the hotel group that recently took over ownership and management of the Wyndham, along with the Radisson Cable Beach Resort & Golf Club and Nassau Beach Hotel, is in its final preparations to launch the popular table game at the Wyndham’s Crystal Palace Casino beginning September 1.

According to J. Duff Taylor, vice president of casino operations for Baha Mar Development Corporation, being the first out of the box with poker is a tremendous coup for the property. “There is nothing in the gaming industry that is bigger than poker right now. The top players in the world are competing for millions of dollars on the turn of a card, and many have become celebrities in their own right. We are delighted that the Crystal Palace is leading the way for Poker here in the Bahamas, bringing poker fans and players of all levels a new destination option and casino experience,” he said.

The property is currently moving ahead with dealer training that will enable players to participate in the most popular poker games available including Texas Hold’em and Seven-Card Stud. Baha Mar is beginning its poker operations with five tables offering a variety of betting limits. The casino’s poker room will open seven days a week beginning at noon and will remain open until games come to their natural end.

Daily poker tournaments at the Crystal Palace Casino will be held Sundays through Thursdays. The company is also preparing to hostmajor tournaments which they expect will attract many of the world’s top players. These seasonal tournaments, for up to 200 entrants, are set to kick-off in January 2006.

The Las Vegas Hilton’s new poker room, scheduled to open around Labor Day, will feature (in addition to poker, of course) four plasma screens to view daily sporting events, daily no-limit Texas Hold’em tournaments held at 10:30 a.m., a state-of-the-art player tracking system and on opening day, a $5 commemorative chip will be offered. Poker Room Manager Ari Mizrachi is throwing in convenient parking into the pot as well.

Also in Las Vegas, the Tuscany Casino goes all in with a new poker room. To celebrate the grand opening, poker players can earn drawing tickets to win a share of $5000. The dealers are spreading Texas Hold’em and No-Limit Texas Hold’em, and the room also features Graveyard Free Roll Tournaments and weekly poker tournaments. See the poker room for tournament and drawing details.

Play the Monte Carlo in Las Vegas through August for a chance to win a 2006 Ford Mustang convertible. One car will be given away every Saturday, ending August 27 to a lucky Monte Carlo One Club member. The casino is also giving players a chance to win cash prizes. Cash drawings will be held in the amount of $300, $200 and $100 with the remaining tickets in the drum. For every 50 points earned on a Monte Carlo One Club card, players will receive a Mustang drawing ticket. The drawings will be held at the One Club Booth on Saturday evenings at 9:00 p.m. and entrants must be present to win. The drum will be emptied after each drawing. Complete rules and details are available at the Monte Carlo One Club booth.

That’s it for this week!
