The Keys to Success

CONFIDENCE. “Be as wise as the serpent, yet as harmless as the dove.” So many people who “think” they are confident and “all that,” miss the second part of this ancient wisdom and if you miss the second part, your so-called confidence is invalid, next! When you are truly wise, then you become confident. So many people use thepower of wisdom to manipulate, it takes humility to be the dove, the symbol of love and light, they unfortunately use their knowledge for selfish gain, invalid, next! A great player is confident in the true essence of the word, which is harmless, yet very powerful. People know you mean business when you’re raising, they fold like Mama does when she’s doing laundry, quickly.

FOCUS. “Focus on your goal and keep your eyes on your goal. When you take your eyes off your goal that’s when doubt starts taking over. Never give doubt even an inch to come in your life. By giving doubt an inch it will take a yard then a mile. Therefore stay on your path to your goal and nothing will come between you and your goal.” Just when I think my bro Robert doesn’t know anything, he e-mails this great piece of wisdom. A great player thinks only of the game when he is playing, one must be able turn off all cares and concerns to focus and conquer the game and the day.

ATTITUDE (”VENI, VIDI, VICI”-I CAME, I SAW, I CONQUERED). Julius Caesar had the right attitude. Only engage in game when you feel powerful. Attitude is where your power lies: Veni, Vidi, Vici, great author Victor H. Royer says “always remember this each time you walk into a casino.” You think Caesar would’ve been so powerful without the right attitude? No, no,he would’ve been chewed up and spit out like a cheap piece of steak. Be a winner before you win because only then will you prevail, have a victor’s attitude. A great player believes that his intent influences the outcome of the cards. Go, see and conquer.

PATIENCE. It is the sign of a noble heart to be well-endowed with patience. When I think back at my life and game’s trials, in some way or another lack of patience caused me to fail, miserably, if I would’ve just waited a little longer and not settled. It takes faith to have patience; it takes confidence, focus, and a great attitude. A great friend of mine used to always say (in broken English) “don’t worry, (all that you want), it’s coming.” How would your life be different if you believed that all you want is on its way? How would your game be different is you waited patiently for great cards?

Confidence, focus, attitude and patience are key ingredients to success. Until next time, “are you the person you want to spend the rest of you life with?” If the answer is no, remember it’s never too late to change and become all you’ve ever wanted to be.
