Thought Terrorist Alert

How many of you are fans of the Twilight Zone Show? For those who are not familiar with the old TV Twilight Zone from back in the 60’s, it was mostly half hour science fiction TV plays. It is still shown frequently on TV today because it carries deep universal messages that touches very deep issues in us, and wakes us up. Itis more real than life, and it scares and shocks us.

“The Old Man and his Pushcart” is the episode that has always had a deep and special meaning to me, although I never knew what that meaning was until now. We see three people receiving a gift from the old man. They are surprised and do not know why or what it is for, but he assures them it is what they need and they accept it gracefully.

We then see three examples of how each gift has saved their lives. The first receives a scissors and we find him entering an elevator. His shoe laces get caught up in the elevator and he is about to get crushed to death, but he remembers the scissors in his pocket, takes it out and cut’s himself free. The other two are similar experiences.

A gangster has been watching this and he comes up to the pushcart man and threatens to kill him if he doesn’t give him what he needs. He receives a pair of new shoes and walks away after again threatening to kill the old man if the shoes are not what he needs. The next sunny day we see the old man and his pushcart. The gangster is angry and running with a gun towards him, screaming that he didn’t get what he needed and he that he was going to kill him. As he steps into the gutter on the run, his shoes slip on the pavement and a car slams into him killing him. We see the old man smiling as he says, “I gave him what I needed”.

I have taken all of this time to share this important point of view I have about my alerting everyone to notice and let go of his or her thought terrorists. My roadmap and my Ten Commitments represent my pushcart, and each of us can use whatever we find in it to become free of their TT, the poisonous memories, ideas, thoughts and beliefs that we are holding onto that cause the feelings that are limiting, killing and keeping us prisoners in a deep dark cell of which we have not yet discovered how to free ourselves from.

There is an unending list of TT that each of us harbor, nurture, protect, obey, feed and sustain as our blessed leaders.

These are the poisonous memories, ideas, thoughts and beliefs that have been implanted in us, or that we have created in response to being neglected or abused some time in our lives. These thought terrorists cause the stressful feelings that do the damage.

We need to embrace the feelings, “go where angels fear to tread”, in order to identify the thoughts that cause them.

Oncewe notice those destructive thoughts, we can do something about them, like letting go of them. When we let go of those thoughts, the dreaded feelings go away.

I am shouting my thought terrorist alert from the rooftops because like the old man with his pushcart, I want to save my life, my children and grandchildren’s lives, and their children’s to come as well. I see myself as the pushcart man and Paul Revere rolled up into one. What?s wrong with being present, being who you really are, maintaining focus, having a joyous mindset and a radiant contagious smile? I am working towards those attributes and that is enough for me. I am on the path. Each day with a little less thought terrorist baggage, is a little better than the last. Following my roadmap of my Ten Commitments is my way of doing this. It is working for me. Use mine, or find you own way. For those of you who like me, have craved personal freedom all of your lives, but had no way of freeing yourselves, consider walking your own path and use whatever gift you find in my message. Your walking your path is what I need!
