The Venetian Poker Room in Las Vegas is running Deep Stack Extravaganza II, a poker room promotion and tournament designed to complement and run concurrently with the World Series of Poker (WSOP), currently underway at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. The Deep Stack Extravaganza II will run through July 1, 2007. The tournament, back by player demand, starts with a significant amount of chips, very generous blind structures and 40 or 60 minute levels. The month-long event includes no-limit hold’em, Omaha/8, pot-limit Omaha. and HORSE. tournaments. The Venetian Poker Room “flopped” a winning hand with their first Deep Stack Extravaganza, held during the first quarter of 2007, when they hosted more than 4,700 entrants and provided a total prize pool of $1.6 million.

“The idea of hosting the Deep Stack Extravaganza II was proposed by an overwhelming number of players from our first Deep Stack Extravaganza. The players were so excited about the structure of our tournaments, that we had numerous requests to host another event,” stated Kathy Raymond, Director of Poker Room Operations. “Players enjoy our tournament format because it offers the feel and experience of playing in a major tournament without the major buy-ins.”

Placing in the money at the Deep Stack Extravaganza II not only earns players cash, but also awards points that could put many on their way to winning even more. The four players that accumulate the most player points throughout the entire event will be awarded Best Overall Player cash awards. One-half of one percent will be withheld from the prize pool of each daily tournament and added to the bestoverall player total prize pool. The standings will be updated daily and posted in The Venetian Poker Room. The winners will be announced on July 1. Kathy Raymond added that this is one tournament not to miss as she estimates the combined prize pool from the entire tournament will be upwards of $5 million.

Additionally, promotional poker rates will be available to participants of the Deep Stack Extravaganza II. The following rates are valid through July 17: Sunday - Thursday is $119 per night, and Friday - Saturday is $189 per night. Promotional rates are based on availability and subject to tournament or cash game participation. Please call 1-877-444-5777 for reservations.
