Just like fall follows summer, the poker tournament scene shifts from Las Vegas and the World Series of Poker in the summer to the Los Angeles area in late August and September. Commerce Casino’s California State Poker Championship, a medium priced tournament series with event buy-ins ranging between $300 and $500 along with a $2,500 buy-in grand finale, got underway September 4 and concluded September 23. We brought you results from the early events last issue. This time we have results from events 10 through 18.
Eric Crisp, of Arlington Virginia, took the main event, winning $314,815 for his efforts. Along the way to his win, he defeated a number of big name players, including Tom Schneider, Amir Vahedi, and “Super” Mario Esquerra.
