The Game Has Changed

“Mother Nature meets Lady Luck,” sums up the hottest casino destination in the Midwest, the recently opened Four Winds Resort Casino. This sprawling, worldclass resort casino, offers an eclectic mix of cutting edge gaming technology surrounded by the warm ambiance of a Northwoods lodge.
“The Game Has Changed” is the motto of The Four Winds, and it becomes very apparent that the gameindeed has changed the minute you enter the poker room. This is the largest totally electronic poker room in the country, featuring 15 PokerPro ten-seat tables and four PokerPro heads up tables.
If you have yet to try these new tables, you may be skeptical at first, and so was I. But driven by curiosity, I gave it a try. I had no clue how to play on these tables, but fortunately a shift manager is always readily available to explain the process in detail. Players also have the opportunity to “practice” on one of the heads up tables before getting into a real game. At first it felt awkward, but after a few hands I began to feel confident, and realized that there are some positive aspects to this type of play. I found the experience similar to taking a seat at live cash game and easier than playing online.
If you enjoy a fast pace and plenty of action, this is definitely the venue for you. Another plus is that it was much easier to keep track of my stack. In recent years, poker has undergone a variety of changes, and in my opinion, electronic poker tables are another step forward in the evolutionary progress of the game.
Another enticement for players is that this is the only World Poker Tour room in the Midwest. Playing poker here can earnyou a free $10,000 WPT seat of choice.
With 300 hours of play, and 12,000 or more poker hands, players become eligible for the January 26, 2008 Poker Invitational. As a bonus, every player with 12,000 hands dealt receives a WPT jacket. The top 100 qualifiers will compete in the Poker Invitational and one $10,000 WPT seat of choice will be awarded for every ten Poker Invitational participants. Texas hold’em and Omaha/8 at fixed- and no-limit are available to players 24/7 at stakes to accommodate all levels. In addition, daily tournaments include hold’em, Omaha, and sit and go. Heads up play has become a popular challenge as well.
The Four Winds Casino Resort has set a new standard for gaming in the Midwest, and truly exemplifies the character and charm of this part of the country. Located in a serene and naturally wooded landscape, this world class destination offers luxury and unsurpassed amenities that include a 165-room suite-hotel, 130,000 square foot state-of-the-art gaming area, six restaurants offering a tempting array of dining options, sports and entertainment bars, retail shops, and Kid’s Quest, a supervised ultimate playground suitable for children of all ages.
